Transparency and product traceability
To showcase transparency in the production of Taro brand fish snacks, a delicious and surprisingly nutritious treat, we aim to highlight the value beyond what consumers might expect. Just as the product itself is carefully crafted, so too is its production process. Therefore, we are driven by the concept of empowering consumers with mindful consumption by encouraging them to be aware of the origin of ingredients and the manufacturing process. Taro is the first snack product to boldly introduce Traceability, allowing consumers to understand the journey from the initial production stages all the way to when the product reaches their hands. This sets a precedent for the food industry in establishing production standards that benefit consumers in making informed choices when selecting food products for consumption in the future.
Consumers can easily access and understand all relevant content by scanning the QR code on every pack of TARO products. This feature allows them to verify the origin of the fish used in the Surimi production of each of our selected suppliers. For 2025, the Company has set a clear target to drive consumer awareness, aiming for at least 20,000 scans per month on the

Sustainable packaging procurement
As part of our commitment to long-term business sustainability, Premier Canning Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary, has been dedicated to collaborative research and development with leading packaging manufacturers. Together, we aim to ensure that our packaging is produced with social and environmental responsibility, promoting resource efficiency and waste reduction. Through these strategic partnerships, the Company has successfully introduced innovative packaging solutions that support our sustainable growth.
Recognizing that packaging is a significant factor in environmental impact, the Company has collaborated with partners to conduct feasibility studies and trials for Mono-material Retort Pouches. This design enables the packaging to be fully recyclable, addressing the challenges of traditional multi-layer materials. Our Procurement, Production, and Quality Control departments have worked in synergy with suppliers to design sustainable packaging that minimizes environmental footprints. This initiative was piloted with our house-brand products and expanded to interested clients. Over the past year, the Company has achieved the following packaging development:
Packaging development in collaboration with partners plan
- Outer Box Packaging: Reduced the paper grade and changed the printing from 3 colors to 1 color.
- Product Labels: Switched the label coating from UV Coating to Water-based Coating.
- Inserts: Reduced the height of the insert to half the box size, along with decreasing the paper weight. Additionally, inserts were eliminated entirely by redesigning the box structure
- Pouch Packaging: Decreased the thickness of the CPP (ALU Pouch) material without compromising product safety and quality.
- Inner Box Packaging: Reduced the paper weight while maintaining the box's strength to support the weight of the goods.
