Packaging Development in Collaboration with Partners

As part of its procurement efforts to drive long-term business sustainability, Premier Canning Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary, is dedicated to collaborating with reputable packaging manufacturers who share a commitment to common sustainability goals. This ensures that all packaging used in the company's production is developed with social and environmental responsibility in mind, promoting maximum resource utilization and minimizing resource consumption. Through the efforts and cooperation of packaging manufacturers, the company has been able to adopt new types of packaging that will continuously support its journey toward business sustainability in the future.

Packaging is a crucial component of products and can significantly impact the environment. Therefore, in 2023, the company partnered with its suppliers to conduct trials and studies on the feasibility of using main and secondary packaging developed by them for product filling. The Procurement, Production, Quality Control departments, and the partners jointly developed and designed packaging to achieve sustainable packaging use and reduce environmental impact. This initiative was piloted with packaging used for the company's own brands and then presented to interested customer groups. In the past year, the company undertook the following packaging development initiatives:

Plan for Packaging Development in Collaboration with Partners

  • Change external box packaging: Reduce paper grade and switch from 3-color printing to 1-color printing.
  • Product labels: Change label coating from UV Coating to Water-based Coating.
  • Reduce insert height to half the box, decrease paper grammage, and eliminate the use of inserts by redesigning the box instead.
  • Pouch packaging: Reduce the thickness of CPP (ALU Pouch) without compromising product safety and quality.
  • Inner packaging boxes: Reduce paper grammage while maintaining load-bearing strength.
