In the product manufacturing process, clean water is considered a crucial factor, especially in the raw material washing and the cleaning of machinery and equipment. The goal of this project is to reduce the volume of treated wastewater discharged into public canals. Therefore, the company recognizes the need for adjustments in the production process to ensure appropriate water usage and to cultivate awareness among all departments regarding the value of water. This helps alleviate the burden of wastewater treatment and further reduces the impact on the environment and ecosystems.
Premier Canning Industry Co., Ltd. and P.M. Food Co., Ltd., its subsidiaries, have established water management as an annual plan to mitigate risks from water scarcity. This involves treating used water from the production process for reuse, a plan that the company has continuously implemented. This has resulted in the efficient use of water resources (tap water) and has also reduced the volume of treated wastewater discharged into public canals.
In the fiscal year 2023, PCI was able to recycle 224 cubic meters/day of treated wastewater, representing 80% of the total wastewater. This treated water has been reused in areas outside the production line, such as flushing toilets, watering plants, washing the raw material receiving area, the loading dock, and treating air by reducing soot and smoke from the Boiler's combustion, among other applications.
In the case of P.M. Food, the target is to recycle 40 cubic meters/day of treated wastewater, or 20% of the total wastewater volume. This recycled water is reused in areas outside the production line, such as flushing toilets, watering plants, and cleaning floors in the areas surrounding the buildings.
