P.M. Food Co., Ltd. and Premier Canning Industry Co., Ltd., as subsidiaries, have adopted a policy and guidelines for conducting business with sustainable responsibility, which includes the use of renewable energy. Therefore, managing electricity consumption is considered a crucial task in their operations, especially as the demand for electricity in the industrial sector continues to rise, contrasting with the future scarcity of traditional fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Additionally, the combustion of these fuels causes air pollution, releasing various toxic gases that significantly impact the environment and contribute to climate change.
The companies recognize the importance of utilizing renewable energy sources for electricity generation within their factories by installing rooftop solar panels (Solar Roof). This is a clean energy source that does not pollute the environment and also helps reduce the cost of purchasing electricity from the power authority.
Both subsidiaries began investing in the installation of solar panels in 2017 and have continuously expanded their installations. By 2021, they had expanded the investment in solar rooftops to cover the entire roof area of their production facilities, generating a total of 1,604.56 MWh/year of electricity. This has resulted in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 1,112.44 tonCO2e/year.
