P.M. Food Co., Ltd. and Premier Canning Industry Co., Ltd., its subsidiaries, adhere to a policy and approach to business operations with sustainable responsibility, which extends to the use of renewable energy. Therefore, managing electricity consumption is considered a crucial mission in their operations. This is particularly important as the demand for electricity in the industrial sector continues to rise, contrasting with the future scarcity of fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Additionally, the combustion of these fuels causes air pollution, leading to various toxic gases that significantly impact the environment and are a primary cause of climate change
The company recognizes the importance of utilizing renewable energy sources to generate electricity for its factories by installing solar panels on the rooftops (Solar Roof). This is a clean energy source that does not pollute the environment and also helps reduce the cost of purchasing electricity from the power authority.
Both subsidiaries began investing in the installation of solar panels in 2017 and have continuously increased and expanded their solar panel installations. By 2021, they had expanded the investment to install solar roofs across the entire roof area of the production plant buildings, resulting in a total electricity generation of 1,604.56 MWh/year and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions estimated at 1,112.44 tonCO2e/year.
