Nature Conservation & Restoration 2022

Meewana Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the network of seven organic forest-conserving coffee community enterprises and government agencies in the area, fosters participation through nature conservation and restoration to mitigate the impacts of climate change (Climate Action). The primary operations involve growing coffee under the shade of trees and maintaining and protecting forests to reduce the risk of deforestation (creating firebreaks) through continuous annual reforestation activities. In 2022, the company coordinated with local government agencies to procure 17,500 diverse seedlings for planting. This included 12,000 timber seedlings, such as Golden Shower Tree (Cassia fistula), Siamese Cassia (Senna siamea), Orchid Tree (Bauhinia purpurea), etc., and 5,500 fruit tree seedlings, including Avocado, Java Plum (Syzygium cumini), and Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica)

The distribution of seedlings for planting took place across the seven villages in the Meewana organic forest-conserving coffee project, which include Khun Lao Village, Huai Khun Phra Village, Rom Yen Village, Huai Khrai Village, Mai Pattana Village, Pha Daeng Luang Village, and Doi Chang Village.
